IPSLEI Expected Student Outcomes

       At the conclusion of attending the IPSLEI program, you will:
 

  • Understand their roles in the context of leadership, ethics, and values

  • Understand and identify their roles and responsibilities to exercise leadership in the community

  • Through a process of personal growth, understand and apply leadership principles in their personal, family, community, and professional lives

  • Develop confidence in their ability to exercise leadership, as delegators, conflict managers, team-builders, coaches, and strategic thinkers

  • Develop a broader view of the cultural and political dynamics of organizations

  • Recognize their ability to develop relationships in the context of exercising leadership and have a positive impact on individuals and organizations

  • Understand the significance of shared vision and communication in effective leadership

  • Recognize the process, importance, risks, and rewards of ethical, principle-centered decision making

  • Expand their insight into the importance of maintaining integrity while meeting the challenges of leadership in the public safety arena

  • Understand the importance of integration and collaboration among all stakeholders, public and private, to meet the challenges of leadership in the public safety arena.


       Ultimately, you will understand how to exercise leadership to positively influence others and organizations regardless of title or position of authority.
